5 Simple Holiday Treats
Something that I think is fun to do is to make holiday treats. I think it’s a great way to have fun with family and friends. Growing up I used to bake a lot. I lost my joy in baking years ago and I’m trying to get back into it. I want to expand my skills because there are still some things I don’t know how to make from scratch. Making holiday treats is fun but it should be easy. Here’s a list of 5 simple holiday treats that are easy to make.
Christmas Rice Crispy Treats
Rice crispy treats are one of the easiest things to make. I honestly don’t really measure the ingredients when I make it. I melt butter and marshmallows in a pan on the stove. Then when it’s melted together I remove it from the heat and add the rice crispy cereal to it.To make it a bit christmassy you can add red and green M&Ms. If you want to be a bit more creative you can add pretzels to make it a reindeer.
Christmas Peppermint Bark
This is a treat that only needs three ingredients. Dark chocolate, white chocolate and peppermint. The tip is to not melt both at the same time. You have to melt the dark chocolate first and let it set on parchment paper. Once the dark chocolate sets you can add the melted white chocolate on top. Crush up some peppermints and sprinkle on top of the white chocolate before it’s solid.
Christmas Cookies
With this I think it’s easy to get pre-made cookie dough. I think sugar cookies are the best for this. Flatten out the cookie dough and use Christmas shaped cookie cutters to get the shape you want. Bake them. After you let them cool, use frosting, sprinkles or even some M&Ms to decorate.
Christmas Pretzels
I love pretzels, I think it’s evident in the fact that it’s mentioned in three of the five treats. All you need for this is white chocolate, pretzels, plus red and green sprinkles. Melt the white chocolate. Place the pretzels down on a wire rack and pour the chocolate over it. Sprinkle the red and green sprinkles over them and let it set.
Christas Trail Mix
I love trail mixes, and I think the Christmas one is the perfect version of the snack. You can add red and green M&Ms, chex cereal, nuts. You can even add the chocolate covered pretzels and break up pieces of the peppermint bark to it. To make it frosty add some powdered sugar
